He now makes his home in Nashville with his son Barrett, daughter Bonnie Lee, and dog Buddy.
Karen Clark is a true ‘Tennessee girl”, born in Chattanooga with family and educational ties in Nashville and Memphis. Karen graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law and then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to work at The Procter & Gamble Company, in its global headquarters, as an attorney. Karen spent her legal career learning branding and marketing and lead large global organizations and complicated business transactions. She specialized in intellectual property law and licensing deals, and knows her way around patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Most importantly, Karen developed a great sense of business strategy and understands advertising and merchandising on a deep level. She entered the world of the music business with a publishing company formed by her late husband, Frank Larry, and Dan Truman, keyboard player for Diamond Rio, and herself. They focused on artist development and placing songs in their catalog with major artists and film and TV placements. Karen and Frank began collaborating with Brett Boyett on the band The Nashvillains. The three of them quickly realized they shared the same vision of forming a multi-genre record label to launch music of talented and unique artists, as they each had other music besides the Nashvillains that was ready to be launched with digital distribution and marketing assets. In the interim, Frank sadly passed away after a brief illness; after a few months, Karen and Brett continued their plan to form a record label to bring the unique music of their Artists to the digital marketplace and the world. Karen brings her legal and business acumen to Fate, as well as her skillful approach to problem-solving and developing profitable, win-win business alliances.
